Temporary crowns are a temporary fix to protect your tooth preparation until the permanent crown is made. We suggest a few precautions to avoid dislodging of the temporaries and damaging the tooth under them:
- Avoid sticky and chewy food that could pull off the temporary crown
- Minimize use of the side of your mouth with temporary crown
- Avoid the use of hard foods like raw vegetables that could dislodge or break the crown
If your crown or bridge feels loose or has fallen off, this is because the cement under the crown washed out. This allows bacteria to leak in and cause decay in the tooth beneath the crown.
